Meet Your Therapist ... Leslie A. Rudisill, LMT
I founded LR Massage Therapy in 2009 in hopes of serving a wide range of clients in the Northern Virginia area. I am constantly improving upon my techniques while furthering my education to offer a more customized session for each individual client. It is my wish to tailor each session to the clients needs and requests, while creating more ease and comfort in your daily life.
I completed my training with Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI) in Washington, DC in 1998, and became a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in December 1998. I remain Board Certified with NCBTMB, state certified through the Virginia Board of Nursing & certified with Fairfax County. I'm also a member of American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).
While in school I was trained in Swedish & Deep Tissue techniques. My past work experience in a chiropractic office for 10+ years allowed for me to work with many clients dealing with Pre & Post Surgery cases, as well as acute and chronic conditions. Additional modalities include Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Reiki 1 & 2, Pre-/Post-Natal sessions & Seated Chair Massage. I strive to bring a nurturing and caring approach to each person in every session I give.
When I don't find myself at the office and helping others, my truest joy & treasure is enjoying time well spent with my family & friends (and the dogs!). My interest include yoga, meditation, walks outdoors in the nature (Mother Nature is the bomb!), gardening, watching my son grow into the young man he is today, reading (when I can find the time), and simply just sitting and watching the world go by. In other words, spending time being mindful, present and alive in each moment. It's okay to take a break from our hectic lives and appreciate what's going on all around us, it's more than okay, it's essential!
Take this very moment to pause, and take a deep cleansing breath.... and smile!
Peace!
